- Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state. Wow! The shadows add such drama.
I'm jealous. I planted my daylilies just last fall and they were these tiny little fans. They have yet to grow large enough to bloom. I may not get blooms until mid summer :(

I kept moving around trying different angles, this one seems to have captured the shadow a bit better than the rest.

This was taken at the local park, it is a rhododendron and I was a surprised to see it in bloom this early.
