Let the Race Begin!

Saturday was our town's annual Ducky Derby fund raising event. For more information on these Ducks with a Mission click HERE!

Over 17,000 ducks were released into a local creek. Most of the ducks hurried on their way trying to be the first across the finish line.

Some of the little fellas took a break near the shore to catch their breath or have a chat with their fellow competitors.

"Well, what do you think? Should we tell them Kenny's dead?"

Others decide to strike out on their own. "Oh no! I forgot my GPS! I wonder if I'm going the right way."

It's a long way to swim but they will be greeted by cheering crowds as they near the finish line.

"Is it time to go home yet?"

Yellow is mellow and a great way to start your Monday. Visit Mellow Yellow Monday for more!

They do this ducky derby in Boulder for Memorial Day, but I don't think the ducks are nearly so cool as these, no sunglasses. And I think Kenny is faking.

Ahaha Judy! This is cutest derby I ever saw! Just look at them, thousands of them! I wish I was there to take photos of them too!

In Singapore, on their river, they have this race too.

Your duckies are so cute with the sunglasses. With the gps, they may even come to New Zealamd.

I love it when a whole community can support this kind of fun. We all need to be able to laugh like this. Great mellow yellow and your play by play was terrific. I think Kenny is just lazy!

They use ducks at one of the fun raising bass fishing tournaments. They give additional prizes if an Angler turns in certain #'ed ducks.

This is too funny; I've never heard of a ducky fund-raiser much less heard of a town releasing 17,000 toy ducks in a river.

I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the photos along with your commentary. lol

Great way to start the day!

These little rubber ducks are the cutest. We also have a race to raise money for our local hospital each year. Very yellow indeed! Thanks for sharing. I'm a new follower. Anne-Marie
