Be Careful Where You Step

This was not off the beaten path, the photo was taken at a rest area of a major highway in Idaho. It was cold and rainy so the snakes were hiding away waiting for the warmth to return.

We go THISway and THATway but on Thursday we visit Freda at THISway/ThursWAY.

Such a beautiful picture, except for that scary sign! It reminds me of the games in children's books called "What's wrong with this picture"!

when i saw the title to your post i started singing the old childrens song, be careful little eyes what you see, and then it works its way to little feet where you go. it is so funny how photos trigger memories and songs. it is very KIND of them to warn us of snakes and very scary. I would not be walking there for sure.

We have those signs at the rest areas here too, not that lush grass though lololol!!
I hope you are having a good week. Glad you took a few extra days. It has been brutally hot here since Sat.

Kinda reminds me of the very 1st time my husband took me fishing when we were dating.

Middle of the night, dark lake out in the middle of the woods. Foggy and no stars or moonlight. Pulled into a rutted pig trail to fish out of a leaky old jon boat and the sign says "don't feed the alligator..."

Beautiful, Judy.... Maybe they put that sign up just to keep people from walking in the grassy areas... (That would work, don't you think???? ha)

Hugs,
Betsy

Just about anywhere there is brush and sun, you can find snakes...I recently straddled a rattle snake (while driving) on a mountain road in the high desert of California. It was coiled and ready to strike. Unfortunately, for the snake, I think he gained a severe headache from the underside of my car! Poor guy!

Yikes, not a very welcoming sign. I was thinking like Betsy, maybe the sign keeps people from walking in that area. :D

Yikes! Maybe there were people wandering away from the rest area that had snake encounters. I would most certainly be watching my step!

What a fantastic shot of this gorgeous view, Judy. I would never tread where snakes wander. I love nature but snakes freak me out.
