Reflection Impression

A very bright sunny day, clear shallow water and a bit of wind. The combination made for a very interesting reflection on the water. The photo has been cropped slightly but otherwise it is straight from the camera.

Reflect on our world with other photos from Weekend Reflections. Thank you James for bringing us together with this wonderful theme.

Green Streets

A lush woodland setting.

All beside a busy city street. The traffic lights changed and gave me just a moment with no vehicles passing by.

A Dog's Tale

There was a bicycle race last weekend and I was there taking photos of both the bikes and the crowd. I spotted this little dog and her mom who appeared to be a race official. The little pup looked bored.

Mom's talking, it's a good time for me to take a break.

"Mom, are you still talking?"

Maybe I'll take a little nap!

A Celebration of Earth Day and New Life

I had the most wonderful surprise today. I saw these little Mallard ducklings at a nearby pond, they are the first babies I have seen this spring. Aren't they adorable.

I have more photos of the little ones at The Road to Here.

Have a joyous Earth Day and let Mother Earth know how much you appreciate all she does for us.

The Ducks Win!

I was looking through my photo files and it seems like every shot I have of the water also has ducks and/or geese. I wanted to show you just a nice calm lake with nothing on it but the reflections.

I found this one but after I had uploaded it what do I see? If you look at the back section of the pond there are .....ducks.

Okay, I give up! Here is a duck.

A Duck on the Roof? - Mellow Yellow Monday

Driving down the street, oh my! What is that I see?

Is it a plane? A bird? No, it's Ducky!

This time of the year if you are driving around our town you might see Ducky. He likes to fly from business rooftop to rooftop, he could be on any one of several buildings. Why you ask? Because it's almost time for our annual Ducky Derby.

Next month on derby day approximately 16,000 yellow rubber ducks will be released into a creek and the race will be on. But these are not just any rubber ducks, they are "Ducks on a Mission". To learn more about the event click HERE.

There is nothing like yellow (in the form of a duck?) to mellow out your Monday. For more yellows visit Mellow Yellow Monday.

Photo Tag!

Tagged! I have been tagged by Rae at Weather Vane. The instructions for this tag say to post the tenth photo from my first Picasa album or computer photo file with a note explaining the photo.

The camera I am currently using was purchased in November 2008 just before we flew down to San Diego to meet up with my hubby's brother for the Baja 1000. We stayed at his house for a day before driving down to Baja for the race. Every spare moment I had I spent learning the camera. This plant, along with a few others, was the subject of my first photos on this camera.

Wasn't that exciting?

Now I am supposed to tag five other people. If you choose to participate then go to your first Picasa album or computer file and pick the tenth photo. Post it to your blog and explain a little about it.

Lynn at Musings From The Texas Hill Country
Freda at Day One
Sandra at MadSnapper A.K.A Snapperone
Icy BC
Ginny at Let Your Light Shine
Self Sagacity
Judy at Hard Working Judy

So that's more than five, these are some folks whose photo files I would love to take a peek at.
I am inviting anyone who wants to play along. It is quick, easy and fun. If you don't want to play no big deal, the world will not implode if you chose not to participate. I still love all of you.
