We want to share a really great video with you. One of Cindi Lou Who's BFF (Bestest Furry Friends) is Madi. The other day Madi & her Mom send us this video from WRAL news in North Carolina. A woman whose cat caught a squirrel was so worried for the animal that she called a cab to deliver it to Triangle Wildlife Rehabilitation.
Thank you Madi & Mom. Click on Madi's photo to visit our favorite Diva Kitty.
You got to make the morning last. Just kicking down the cobble stones. Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.
Ba da, Ba da, Ba da, Ba da...Feelin' Groovy.
Hello lamp-post, What cha knowin'? I've come to watch your flowers growin'. Ain't cha got no rhymes for me? Doot-in' doo-doo, Feelin' groovy.
I've got no deeds to do, No promises to keep. I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep. Let the morning time drop all it's petals on me. Life, I love you, All is groovy.
The theme for this week's Photo Time is Unique Tires. This was a tough one but after much thought I found these tires and wheels. The top photo is a sign at one of our local bicycle shops, when the wind blows the wheel spins. The last two photos are of a toy I picked up at a yard sale. I use it as a little plant stand. For more photos visit Freda at Photo Time.
I am still having internet connection problems. Our service was down Friday evening and all that night. We were not home most of yesterday and when we got home our service was down again. I am so far behind on my visits to your blogs but I am going to try and catch up with everyone later today.

It is hot here today (at the moment it is 100F/38C) so the thought of splashing water sounds so good right now. This was taken at a fountain. I really got caught up in the way the water from the fountain was hitting the surrounding pool.
Some of you were asking about the Bee Fly in yesterday's post. So what is a Bee Fly?
Bee flies are members of a large family of flies called Bombyliidae. It is believed that their superficial resemblance to bees offers them some protection from predators. This Bee Fly is somewhat smaller than the honey bees in my yard.
No, they don't sting.
They feed on the nectar and pollen of flowers. The Bee Fly in my photos is one of several different varieties of bee fly. You can click on the photos to enlarge.
Bee flies are on every continent except Antarctica but most folks don't notice them because they look like another bee on the flowers.
To see more of our world in tiny detail please take a look at Macro Monday.
Dirt? We have dirt! We live in a large agricultural area and when the fields are not planted there is Dirt.
When we go on vacation we like to go to desert races where there is sand and lots of Dirt. What looks like a writing in the dust is actually a banner that was reflecting on the motorhome window where I was standing. I really didn't want to scratch the lens on my camera.
And then there is just plain old Dirt which isn't all that plain when you look at it up close.
The theme for this month's Brenda Photo Challenge is Dirt! Be sure to visit the other challenge participants or better yet join us in the challenge.
If you saw yesterday's post you will remember I asked what kind of chicks these were, what will they be when they go up? Now it's time to meet their parents. First look THISway!
Mama Peahen.
She is teaching her little ones how to find food. I wonder which WAY they will go next.
And the proud papa of the six little chicks. The family of peafowl live at our local aviary. The photo quality is not the best, I had to stick my camera lens through a chain link fence.
Just after I had watered my flower the sun hit these Strawflowers. Notice how the sun is reflection off some of the rain drops.
Yellow is mellow and yellow flowers are the mellowest of all. The theme for this week's Photo Time is mellow yellow flowers. Also check out all sorts of yellows at Mellow Yellow Monday. And if flowers are your favorite thing be sure to visit Today's Flowers.
My Internet connection has been off and on all week (mostly off). Looks like it is back to normal now, I hope. I will be catching up with all of your blogs today.
This is one of my Sundaze Golden Yellow (bracteantha bracteata) also called Strawflower. I let one of the blooms go to seed for photographic purposes but imagine my surprise when I looked throught the viewfinder and saw a heart.
There are hearts everywhere. If you don't believe visit Clytie's Guest Heart Thursday at Random Hearts.
It was about 95 degrees (F) at the time I took this photo. This little shady area seemed like a good place to take a break during my walk in our downtown area.
This was one of those times that I couldn't decide which photo to show you so you get both. Also consider yourselves warned my dear blogging friends, I may be getting a little carried away with water droplets. There will be more!
For more watery photos visit Watery Wednesday. To see a variety of photos visit Tuesday Takes. I know today is Wednesday but my Internet connection was either down or super slow all day yesterday. It's still acting up so hopefully this will post!!!

What's That?
I don't know but . . .
did you see that?
When you are describing,
A shape, or sound, or tint;
Don't state the matter plainly,
But put it in a hint;
And learn to
look at all things,
With a sort of mental squint.
-Lewis Carroll

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.
The past is a nice place to visit, but I don't want to live there.
The past is a fun place to visit, but today is where I am now.
The past is a interesting place to visit, But tomorrow will bring new memories.

It Couldn't Be Done
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That "maybe it couldn’t," but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you’ll never do that; At least no one ever has done it;" But he took off his coat and he took off his hat And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin, Without any doubting or quiddit, He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done, There are thousands to prophesy failure, There are thousands to point out to you one by one, The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin, Just take off your coat and go to it; Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing That "cannot be done," and you’ll do it.

My Fairy
My fairy is called Tangle Saturnshimmer
She is a trouble maker.
She lives at the bottom of tangled gardens and in hedgerows.
She is only seen when the first flowers begin to blossom.
She wears tangled dresses of multicoloured petals. She has delicate pale pink wings like a cicada.
My my, hey hey
Rock and roll is here to stay
It's better to burn out
Than to fade away
My my, hey hey.
Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye.
Hey hey, my my.
