Angel

The theme for this week's Photo Time is Angel. This little wooden angel has been a part of my Christmas for many years. She has traveled with me from Georgia to Alaska and now Washington state. Somewhere along the way she lost a wing but she brightens the tree just the same.

Happy Thanksgiving

Grateful for each hand we hold
Gathered round this table.
From far and near we travel home,
Blessed that we are able.

This is a very beautiful song, if you have a moment take a look at the video.

When my Calphalon Stir Fry pan arrived I couldn't wait to put it to use. I really enjoy doing stir fry as it is a quick and easy way to prepare a meal. What I had planned for the night the pan arrived was not a stir fry however, I was preparing a roast and sauteed vegetables.

I added just a few drops of olive oil to the pan and then tossed in my veggies. The pan has a flat bottom so it was very stable on my ceramic cook top. The vegetable cooked evenly and slide easily from the pan to the serving dish. They were delicious by the way.

I have used it several times since and it sears meats beautifully. I really like that it lets me decide when the food is ready to be released from the pan.

The handle was warm but not hot to the touch. When I finished cooking the Calphalon One Infused Anodized pan was very easy to clean, a little hot soapy water and it was done.

I would recommend this pan to anyone who enjoys cooking and like easy clean-up. At CSN Stores' price it would make a great Christmas gift.

The Gathering

Where is everybody? Don't they ever check the time?

Hey, over here! We are going to be late.

Finally, everyone is together. Now if we can just get our ducks in a row we're out of here.

The theme for this week's Photo Time is "Gathering". Visit Freda at Photo Time for more photos. Also visit Camera Critters to see animals from around the world.

Quack, Quack, Waddle, Waddle

I talked to a duck, he was a pretty good guy,

He really couldn't walk and he really couldn't fly,
He really couldn't talk and he really couldn't sing,
He really couldn't do much of anything

He went quack, quack, waddle, waddle
all day long
Quack, quack, waddle waddle
and singing that song.

I ran across this video while looking for something entirely different and thought it was so cute. Or maybe I have been hanging out with the ducks at the pond too much lately.

It's Thursday and time to check our directions with ThisWay Thursday. And while we are traveling let's visit Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song for a little music.

Autumn Sunshine

A few of my favorite yellows from last week to brighten your Monday. If you look at the middle photo near the bottom of the tree trunk you can see a sunbeam. Those are mallards you see on the ground on this side of the tree. Click on any photo to enlarge.

Yellow is mellow, can you think of a better way to start the week? Visit Mellow Yellow Monday for more.

Redhead

To me it looks more orange but from what I can find out these ducks are called Redheads. The photo has been cropped just a tiny bit and the contrast slightly increased.

Visit Camera Critters for more photos of critters from around the globe.

This duck is also a Winner! My photo was chosen as the winning photo for the month of October at The Retirement Chronicles. A big thank you to Joan and all the judges. Joan holds a photo contest each month on her blog, for more details go HERE! The contest is open to all so head on over and join in.

Hey, Little Cobra

Hey, Little Cobra
Don't you know
You're gonna shut'em down

I took my Cobra down to the track
Hitched to the back of my Cadillac
Everyone was there just a waiting for me
There were plenty of Stingrays and XKEs

When the flag went down
You could hear rubber burn
The Stingray had me going into the turn
I hung a big shift and I got into high
And then I flew by the Stingray
I waved bye-bye

Spring little Cobra
Getting ready to strike
Spring little Cobra
With all of your might
Spring little Cobra
Getting ready to strike
Spring little Cobra
With all of your might
Hey, little Cobra
Don't you know
You're gonna shut'em down

It's Thursday and time for Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song. It is fun and easy to join so come on down!

Litte Yellow Caboose?

Do you remember when trains had a caboose? The ones I remember from my childhood were always red, I really can't recall a yellow one. What I do remember is watching trains thunder by and waiting to see the Little Red Caboose (I think that was the title of a children's book).

To see more yellows to mellow out your Monday visit Mellow Yellow Monday.

Mums the Word

These are all from the same group of mums but the top photo was taken on a different day in different light. Light can make a real difference when it comes to colors.

Be sure to visit Photo Time (this week's theme is Macro Flowers) and Macro Saturday Flowers for more photos.

A Friend

If the sky above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
Keep your head together
And call my name out loud
Soon you'll hear me knocking at your door

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again

Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend

I know it's hard to believe but it's Thursday already and that means it time for Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song. We would love it if you would join in the fun!

Snow on The Blues

Not a great photo, the light wasn't quite right, but I wanted to show you this green field and autumn colors. Oh, and that white stuff on the mountains is snow. This photo was taken last week, we had rain in the valley but the higher elevations of the Blue Mountains got the snow. For more photos please visit Freda for Tuesday Takes.
