Wishing you all a safe and very, very

A Thought for the Coming New Year

Let this coming year be better than all the others. Vow to do some of the things you've always wanted to do but couldn't find the time. Call up a forgotten friend. Drop an old grudge, and replace it with some pleasant memories. Vow not to make a promise you don't think you can keep.

Walk tall, and smile more. You'll look ten years younger. Don't be afraid to say, 'I love you'. Say it again. They are the sweetest words in the world.
Ann Landers

For the last time in 2010 take a few minutes and visit Freda at Quote it Saturday and Maia at Macro Flowers Saturday.

Don't Stop ........

If you wake up and don't want to smile,
If it takes just a little while,

Open your eyes and look at the day

You'll see things in a different way

Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don't stop, it'll soon be here,
It'll be, better than before,
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.

Don't you look back,
Don't you look back.

It's Thursday and time for Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song! Why haven't you joined us yet? All you need is a photo or two and a song!

Cinnamon Teal

The Cinnamon Teal is a small, reddish dabbling duck found in marshes and ponds of western North and South America.
The is a male, isn't he a handsome fellow?

Sunshine in the Snow

After our first snow fall a few weeks ago I was amazed to find my Strawflowers still looking fresh and beautiful. Soon the temperatures fell to below zero and the little blooms wilted and faded. But I know this tough little plant will bloom again come spring. Yellow is mellow and will brighten any Monday, visit Mellow Yellow Monday for more.

Merry Christmas - Happy Holidays

free online Christmas Greetings
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ecards

This has been a wonderful year because of friends like of you. The blogging universe is filled with some of the nicest folks I have ever met. Each and everyone of you are very special to me, I truly appreciate your visits and your friendship.

Wishing for each of you a safe and Happy Holiday and a very Merry Christmas.

I will be taking a few days off from blogging. Mostly for the holiday but also I need to do some work on my computer. It has gotten so slow and I am having a lot of trouble leaving comments on many of your blogs. A little maintenance should solve all of these problems.

Winter Days

The water around here is more of the solid to flaky variety these days. We had a brief look at the sun yesterday before the ice fog rolled back in and darkened the skies.

Let It Snow!

Snow flakes at night. I took this photo from my patio. It came out looking more like stars to me but those really are snow flakes.

A very tiny snowball on snow.

Snow on my Nandina plant. This little bush has color all winter.

The theme for this week's Photo Time is SNOW! I didn't have a problem coming up with photos for this theme.

Christmas for Cowboys

A campfire for warmth as we stop for the night,
the stars overhead are Christmas tree lights.
The wind sings a hymn as we bow down to pray,
It's Christmas for cowboys,
wide-open plains.

Thursday is a great time to break out the music for Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song. Why not join us?

It's Almost Christmas - Let's Party!

Merry Christmas Santa
Christmas comes this time each year
Oooooooo oooooooo

Well, way up North where the air gets cold
There's a tale about Christmas that you've all been told
And a real famous cat all dressed up in red
And he spends the whole year workin' out on his sled.

It's the little Saint Nick
little Saint Nick
It's the little Saint Nick
little Saint Nick

Just a little bobsled, we call it ol' Saint Nick
But she'll walk a toboggan with a four speed stick
She's ol' candy apple red with a ski for a wheel
And when Santa hits the gas, man, just watch her peel.

And just for fun I am including a Coke commercial from a few year back, I've always thought this one was so sweet.

Thursday means it time for two of my favorite memes: Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song and Freda's ThisWay Thursday!

Hazy Shades of Winter

Time, time, time, see what's become of me
While I looked around
For my possibilities
I was so hard to please

But look around, leaves are brown

And the sky is a hazy shade of winter

I also like The Bangles' version of this song, you can see it HERE.

Thursday means it time for Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song. All you need is a few photos and some song lyrics, won't you join us?
