The Stray Cats

Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh,
Black and orange stray cat sittin' on a fence
Ain't got enough dough to pay the rent

I'm flat broke but I don't care

I strut right by with my tail in the air

I wish I could be as carefree and wild,

but I got cat class and I got cat style.

Hey Hoomans! Fuzzi here, did you remember we took over this blog (for a little while)? Well we decided to play a song we really like this week. It's got a good beat and easy to dance to, even with four paws. We think Ms. Anni will like this song. Won't you please visit Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song.

And if you scroll down a little bit you will see what we found for Ms. Clytie at Guest Hearts Thursday.

Bet you didn't know kitties could find hearts too.

PS, We asked Mommy what is a stray cat? Mommy says that's a kitty that doesn't have a home or anyone to take care of it. We are not stray cats 'cause we have a home and our Mommy to love us. All hoomans out there need to be like our Mommy and our blogging friends and make sure to spay and neuter their pets.

Skipper

Big Boy here, yes we are still in charge of Mommy's blog. We can't keep it much longer cause the squirrels are starting to grumble and you know how cranky they can get. We promise we will give it back to them soon.

Anyhow we wanted to show you what we found in Mommy's photo files. This is a Skipper, it has attributes (that's a biggie word and I don't know what it means but it was in Mommy's notes) of both butterflies and moths. We think they are really cute.

For more photos please visit Outdoor Wednesday.

The Paws Have It

Cat's paws are not only cute but very useful. They aid in climbing and act like a shock-absorber when we land. Our hind legs and paws are stronger than the front, that's because they get most of the stress when we run or jump.

Spooky says, "Paws are good unless your brother sticks his in your face when you are trying to sleep."

Did you know that we kitties are left or right pawed, just like you humans. Studies have shown that out of every one hundred cats roughly 40 are left pawed, 20 are right pawed and the rest are ambidextrous. Information from pawsonline.info

Hi, I'm Big Boy!
In case you are wondering about the header photo here on Mommy's blog, we have decided to take over the blog for a few days. Don't get us wrong, we like squirrels, and we will give the blog back.........eventually. Okay Mommy, we won't keep it long.

All those in favor of making this a kitty blog for a few days, raise your paw in support!

For more cats and other animals please visit Camera Critters.

Open Book

Don't believe all those lies

Look

my heart is an open book
I love nobody but you (ah, ah, ah, ah)

It's Thursday and you know what that means! It's time to visit Freda's ThisWay/ThursWay, Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song and Clytie's Guest Heart Thursday.

Ducky Paradise

The duck haven't been on my blog much lately so I thought it was time to introduce you to another resident of our local aviary.

The Paradise Shelduck is a large goose-like duck found in New Zealand. This one is a female, isn't she beautiful? The males have dark heads and a barred black body. Shelducks usually live in pairs. The male refused to smile for my camera and hid in the bushes.

Please take a few minutes and visit Watery Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday.

Cat's Eye

click on any photo to enlarge

I was pretty sure I had captured a reflection in Miss Sissi Cat's eye but I could not be positive until I uploaded the photos to the computer. She was looking up towards the roof of our house and the sky. Enlarge the photos for a closer look at what she saw.

Cats do care. For example they know instinctively what time we have to be at work in the morning and they wake us up twenty minutes before the alarm goes off.
Michael Nelson

You can keep a dog; but it is the cat who keeps people, because cats find humans useful domestic animals.

Celebrate Outdoors

I realized I haven't shared pics for our city's 4TH of July celebration. It was held at the largest of our parks.

There were vendor tents everywhere.

The crowd was huge, walking through the event was slow but very interesting. Everybody turned out to help celebrate. There was a rumor going around that a celebrity or two might show up.

I never did see one however!

Please take a few minutes and visit some friends at Freda's Tuesday Takes, PicStory and Ruby Tuesday.

A Quiet Moment

There has never been a cat
Who couldn't calm me down
By walking slowly
Past my chair.
Rod McKuen

Hey, is that Sissi? How come she gets on the blog so much?
My name is Bandit by the way, I'm Sissi's sister. I'm demanding equal time for me and the other members of the Kitty Krew.

Well, I can't help it if I'm beautiful!

And I'm not afraid of mommy's camera thingy.

So much for calm.

For more fun photos be sure to visit Freda's Photo Time (this week's theme is Calm), Camera Critters, and Cats on Tuesday.

Summertime Blues

I'm gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a holler

About a workin' all summer just to try to earn a dollar
Every time I call my baby, and try to get a date
My boss says, "No dice son, you gotta work late"
Sometimes I wonder what I'm a gonna do
But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues

Well my mom and pop told me, "Son you gotta make some money,
If you want to use the car to go ridin' next Sunday"

Well I didn't go to work, told the boss I was sick
"Well you can't use the car 'cause you didn't work a lick"

Sometimes I wonder what I'm a gonna do
But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues

How is your summer going?

Want to wish all of our friends in the US a Happy Independence Day
To all of our friends around the world, Happy Weekend!

"You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism."
