I Saw What You Did

Hi Hoomans! It's us, the Kitty Krew.

Mommy was driving home a couple of days ago and saw the decorations at this house (it is actually a museum). She pulled over to the side of the road and snapped a couple of photos, one after the other ..... snap, snap, and drove away. She didn't notice the differences in the photos until she uploaded them to the computer.

Do you see it?

'tis near Halloween

When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.
~Author Unknown

Wait! Hoomans, don't run away!

It's just me, Cindi Lou Who! I got together with the Kitty Krew and we decided (okay, so I told them. I was here first you know) that I would be in charge of the blog this week. After all, what goes better with Halloween that a black cat?

I'm trying hard to give you my scariest black cat face!

Did it work? Are you scared? Oh well, I can't help it if I'm so cute that I can't scare you. But it's the thought that counts. Right?

Linus: Each year, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch that he thinks is the most sincere. He's gotta pick this one. He's got to. I don't see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one. You can look around and there's not a sign of hypocrisy. Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see.
It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

PS. Did you know some hoomans are afraid of black cats? They are superstitious and won't give a forever home to the little black kitties at the shelters. That is so wrong. We are just as sweet and loving as any cat. And we are NOT unlucky. Mommy says those people are silly.

Kitty Kisses,
Cindi Lou

A Litte (Halloween) Night Music

They're creepy and they're kooky,
Mysterious and spooky,
They're all together ooky,
The Addams Family.

Their house is a museum
Where people come to see 'em
They really are a scream
The Addams Family.

We're gonna pay a call on
The Addams Family.

And for those who think it isn't Halloween without this song (like me):

A Ducky Diagnose

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.

After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away."

The distressed woman wailed, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead," replied the vet..

"How can you be so sure?" she protested. "I mean you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something."

The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head.

The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.

The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."

The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman..

The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$150!" she cried, "$150 just to tell me my duck is dead!"

The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan, it's now $150."

I received the joke in an email and, sorry, I could not resist posting it.

Big Boy's Post

Hello Hoomans!
My name is Big Boy and I've got some things to share with you today. Mommy said you might be interested in how we got our names. When we were tiny kittens mommy say my brother and I looked so much alike she called us The Twins. Later because I was a little bigger mommy called me Big Boy.

And of course she called my brother Little Boy (above). We are one year old now and still look alike but now we are the same size. Unless mom can see our faces she still can't tell us apart.

Mom also said I could show you some photos of the spay/neuter event for feral kitties that she worked at earlier this month.

This is one of the very nice vets who volunteered his time to help with the event.

The are three of the kitties my mom took care of after their surgery. They are brothers and sisters. Do you see the green ears? That is where they got their tattoos. Most of the ink will wear off leaving only the tattoo.

These three little ones are very lucky. A nice person worked with them to get them used to being around hoomans. Now they are very sweet and like people. The Humane Society took these little kittens and put them up for adoption. Instead of living on the street they will have wonderful forever homes.

That's all for today. Big Boy signing out!

Year of the Cat

On a morning from a Bogart movie
In a country where they turn back time
You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre
Contemplating a crime

She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running
Like a watercolor in the rain
Don't bother asking for explanations
She'll just tell you that she came

In the year of the cat

Inspired by the movie Casablanca, Year of the Cat is my favorite Al Stewart song.

Mister Spooky's Blog Post

Hello Hoomans! It's me, The Spookster, but you can call me Spooky.
Mommy said it was my turn to make a blog post. All my brothers and sisters of course argued and said it was their turn but I won.

I have so many things to tell you today. First I have to show you something. Our dear sweet (and very beautiful) blog friend Luna (she's from a place called Brazil but now she lives in Luxembourg) did a very special post about us members of the Kitty Krew (and Cindi Lou too) on her blog. Her Mommy Leia made some really special frames for our photos, we thing they are sooooooo beautiful. See what you think!

Hey Spooky! I, Miss Fuzzi, love my pretty pink frame. How did Luna's mommy know that I luvs flutterflies and flowers? Look how cute I am in the frame!!!

Not now Fuzzi, it's my turn on the blog. Hey Hoomans, if you want to see all of the pretty frames go over and visit our friend Luna. Just click HERE. Be sure to tell Luna that Spooky and The Kitty Krew sent you!
My Mommy also wanted me, The Spookster, to give you a message.

Mommy is going to be working with the Cat Management Coalition for a spay/neuter clinic. tomorrow and Thursday. They will be doing about 40 to 50 feral and low income cats tomorrow and more on Thursday.

Mommy says she won't be trapping this time but she will be doing post op procedures. I asked her what that meant and she said she will be taking care of the kitties after surgery, giving them their vaccinations, a micro chip and an ear tattoo. I'm still not quite sure what that all means but I know mom will take good care of all the kitties.

If you want to know more go HERE or HERE. You can also visit The Cat Management Coalition on Facebook.

Mommy says it's going to be a very busy two days so she probably won't get a chance to see any of you before Friday.

Loving Those Rocks

When I was a little girl
And the devil would call my name
I'd say who do,
Who do you think you're fooling

I'm a country girl,
I'm a singer in a Sunday choir

My mama she loves, she loves me
Gets down on her knees and hugs me

And she loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages and loves me

She loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages and loves me

She loves me, loves me, loves me
Loves me (loves me like a rock)...

This week is going by really fast, it's hard to believe it's Thursday already. But that's a good thing because it means is time for Hootin' Anni's Thursday Theme Song and Freda's ThisWay/ThursWay!

Cindi Lou and The Kitty Krew get Mail

Hey, Bandit! Come over here, I have something to show you.

Lookie! We got goodies!

We won a contest at Dory and The Mama's blog and the package just arrived.

Look at the really cool jar we got, it's going to hold a lot of goodies.

Hey Sissi, look at the fun ball that was in the package.

Not now Bandit, I'm checking out these treats. Yummy in my tummy!

There is also a smell mail from Dory, Jacob and Bilbo. Come on Bandit you can read it too.

Sissi, do you think we should call Cindi Lou and our brothers and sister Fuzzi? I mean the box is for all of us.

Sure, we'll call them. After we play with the balls and mice and eat some more treats.

Thank you Dory, Jacob, Bilbo and The Mama!
We love our package of goodies!

A PS from mama Squirrel Queen.
Cindi Lou was sitting right behind me while I was taking photos. The rest of the Kitty Krew were playing else where in the yard. Later in the evening everyone got a treat. All of my kitties are rescues and getting them all together at the same time (except for meals) is a challenge. They love the toys, the mice have been tossed into the air and attacked at least a million times already.
