The Kitty Krew and Cindi Lou here! Mommy said we could blog today and wish all our Bloggy friends a Happy New Ears. We thought about this for awhile and now we are wondering, are you all getting new ears? We don't understand cause we like our ears just the way they are.
We don't wants new ears.
Mommy said it meant that the ear was changing and people were going to be celebrating the coming news ear with parties and fireworks.
Soooo, you are not getting new ears. The ears you have will change into something else?
We are totally confused! Mommy said she would explain it all to us later. So we will just wish all of you out there:
Rocking around the Christmas Tree At the Christmas party hop Mistletoe hung where you can see Every couple tries to stop Rocking around the Christmas Tree
You will get a sentimental feeling When you hear voices singing "Let's be jolly; Deck the halls with boughs of holly"
Rocking around the Christmas Tree Have a happy holiday Everyone's dancing merrily In a new old fashioned way Rocking around
Helloooo Hoomans! Fuzzi here for today's blog post. My brothers and sisters said I was too little to write on Mommy's blog but I told them I wasn't. Then I asked Mom and she said I could. So there, all you other kitties.
I am going to tell you about dog sledding or mushing today. Here is what mushing is according to Wik-i-pe-dia. Whatever that is.
Mushing is a general term for a sport or transport method powered by dogs, and includes carting, pulka, scootering, sled dog racing, skijoring, freighting, and weight pulling. More specifically, it implies the use of one or more dogs to pull a sled on snow or a rig on dry land. The term is thought to come from the French word marche, or go, run, the command to the team to commence pulling. "Mush!" is rarely used in modern parlance, however; "Hike!" is more common in English. Mushing can be utilitarian, recreational, or competitive. Courtesy of Wikipedia
And why are we telling you this? Well one of mommy's blogging friends, Ms. Sandra, aka MadSnapper sent her the following quote:
"Cats are smarter than dogs. You can't get eight cats to pull a sled through snow." - Jeff Valdez
And to prove that the quote is true I submit to you the following video. Notice who is pulling and who is riding on the sleigh.
See, we kitties are smart!
Hey Mom, next time can I get a smaller hat? This one keeps falling down and I can't see.
Hello Hoomans! Big Boy here, do you remember me? Anywho, all the other members of The Kitty Krew got together and decided I would do the post for this weekend. What an honor! Actually I think they are too busy playing with toys and chasing each other so they decided big brother should work. MOL!
I want to show you one of mom's old Christmas ornaments. She has had it for many years. She says we cannot play with it because it is AGING and needs to be handled carefully.
Mommy let us look at You Tube and pick out some videos that we liked. She said if we were good (Hey mom, we're always good .... sort of) we could post some of them on the blog. We thought this one was soooooooo cute. See what you think?
Later, Big Boy and The Kitty Krew PS, Mom can I ditch the hat now? I want to play with the ornaments.
First the Canada geese flew south for the winter. Oh, wait a minute, they are headed north. Not to worry, they turned around eventually and flew south. This was taken just before sunset which gave them the red color.
Then the fog came. Now we have ice fog and freezing temps.
Soon the snow will come and it will get really COLD.
And this will make the kitties very unhappy. They are not fond of the snow on their paws. But not to worry, they have a large area to play that is always snow free.
I took this photo about two weeks ago and after I uploaded it to the computer I began to notice shapes that I had not seen at the park. Water can be like clouds when it comes to seeing shapes in the moving ripples and the reflections.
Besides the actual duck I see three very distinct animal like shapes in the photo. Do you see any creatures or other objects?
I'm going to be working with the Cat Management Coalition this week. Tuesday I will be trapping some feral cats for the spay/neuter event on Wednesday. During the event I will be working post op and then on Thursday returning the cats I trapped. I'll catch up with everyone after the event.
When you are describing,
A shape, or sound, or tint;
Don't state the matter plainly,
But put it in a hint;
And learn to
look at all things,
With a sort of mental squint.
-Lewis Carroll

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.
The past is a nice place to visit, but I don't want to live there.
The past is a fun place to visit, but today is where I am now.
The past is a interesting place to visit, But tomorrow will bring new memories.

It Couldn't Be Done
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That "maybe it couldn’t," but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you’ll never do that; At least no one ever has done it;" But he took off his coat and he took off his hat And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin, Without any doubting or quiddit, He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done, There are thousands to prophesy failure, There are thousands to point out to you one by one, The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin, Just take off your coat and go to it; Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing That "cannot be done," and you’ll do it.

My Fairy
My fairy is called Tangle Saturnshimmer
She is a trouble maker.
She lives at the bottom of tangled gardens and in hedgerows.
She is only seen when the first flowers begin to blossom.
She wears tangled dresses of multicoloured petals. She has delicate pale pink wings like a cicada.
My my, hey hey
Rock and roll is here to stay
It's better to burn out
Than to fade away
My my, hey hey.
Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye.
Hey hey, my my.
