Love is in the Air

A handsome Mandarin and his lovely lady (upper left). Unlike other species of ducks, most Mandarin drakes reunite with their mate after the eggs have hatched and even share duties in watching the ducklings.

A pair of Nene geese (Hawaiian geese). The male is keeping watch to protect the female on the nest. He will stand guard until the eggs are hatched. Once the eggs hatch the pair will protect their little ones together.

Coscoroba swans. The male of this species will also stand guard over the female and aggressively protect the little ones once they hatch.

:::singing::: Just an old fashioned love song-------one of my favorites. Oh, and your 'loving' photos are superb. I really liked having all the photo captions below where you describe each one. As always, you do one superb job with the songs you choose. A+!!! In every way.

And, even tho I don't mention it in comments, I really appreciate you entertaining us visitors with a weekly theme song. Well done.

You have the most beautiful waterfowls in your area. What a great song. I love the first few seconds of music...you always know exactly what song is about to be played.

Three Dog Night, love their music and this one is one of my favorites. It brings back memories of my childhood and many hours spent listening to music.

Your pictures are all so wonderful, with the male fowl keeping gaurd over the female. A true "Love". The Mandarin is a very colorful bird. But, the swans just have a look of grace about them.

I enjoyed your post tremendously!!
AWESOME JOB!!!

I remember telling a guy at work that was a Paul Williams song, and he thought I was making fun of him for listening to it.
