Where is The Mama

Sissi Cat: Hey guys, have any of you seen our Mama?

Big Boy: I haven't seen her Sissi. Did you check the house?

Sissi Cat: I've been looking for her everywhere. I want to help her do some yard work. I always get lots of tummy rubs when we work in the yard or garden.

Spooky:  I saw her a little while ago in the house.

Sissi Cat: What was she doing Spooky?

Spooky:  She was listening to turtles.

Sissi Cat: Turtles?

Spooky: Yes turtles.  A land or marine reptile having a protective shell enclosing its body.

Sissi Cat: Now why would she be listening to turtles. All they talk about is algae, bugs and how to find the best places to sun themselves.

Spooky: No Sissi, the turtles weren't talking. They were singing!

Sissi Cat: Singing? Can turtles sing?

Sissi Cat: I really worry about our Mama sometimes. She does some of the strangest things, like listening to turtles. But it really doesn't matter cause as long as we are all in one place we are "Happy Together".

Mews of The Week

Hello friends, Little Boy here to bring you all the mews from the past week.

We have all been very busy this week. Here you see Miss Sissi Cat patroling our territory keeping a sharp eye out for intruders, especially squirrels and skunks. Yes, you heard me right .... skunks. The other night a skunk came on our patio and turned over a small trash can filled with flower and grass clippings. He scattered it everywhere! All of us kitties, and our Mama, watched very quietly. We did not want to disturb Mr. Skunk even though he was making a mess. We like the way we smell and did not want skunk perfume all over us. We helped Mama clean up the mess the next morning then decided the trash can would stay inside the garage from now on. Mama tried to get a photo but it was dark outside and she didn't want to scare Mr. Skunk with a flash. You understand why don't you?

Miss Aphrodite and ....

.... Miss Athena who Mama was fostering have had their little girl surgery and are now at the Humane Society looking for their own furever homes. We miss them but Mama said if they got to used to being here it would be hard for them to adjust to a new home. Mama will be keeping track of them and visiting.

We are also catching up on a post from last week. The theme for Miss Freda's Photo Time last week (while we were on break) was Wheels. This is a 1932 Cord in case you are wondering. Isn't it beautiful?

The theme for this week's Photo Time is Lace. Mama discovered there is no lace anywhere in our house. We have a lace shortage! So she dug into her photos and found this cute photo of our Dad's grandmother when she was a baby. We know we didn't take the photo but we will continue to look for more lace. Both of these themes will be open for awhile. Do you have a wheel or lace (hopefully you are not lacking in lace) to enter?

That's all for now folks. It's my turn to keep watch on our territory and keep those squirrels away. If the skunk comes back you will find me hiding under the sofa.

Little Boy out!

I couldn't decide which song to go with so I am giving you a combination. I know this song has been done by a lot of different groups but this is a clip from one of my favorite feel good movies. If you have never seen it you should.

Okay, from another of my favorite movies.

And for those of you that need a Beatles fix.

Time Out

Hey everybody, The Kitty Krew here.
Mommy was volunteering at a spay/neuter event this week. It turned into a really long event so she hasn't had time to help us with the blog and to visit our friends. We got together and talked her into taking a little break to relax (and give us some much needed attention). So we are all taking a little mini vacation for a few days. We will all be back soon.

Have a great weekend!

Meow,
Cindi Lou & The Kitty Krew

We Interrupt This Blog

Hey! Yeah you!
We are staging a protest.
All of you seem to think those silly cats are perfect.
And you call us rodents.

Do you realize how hard we work all day? Do you know what a hard job it is to keep an eye on yards and parks? Watching for humans so we can beg for politely request nuts.Sometimes we have to follow them around for minutes and minutes until they finally give in and part with some goodies.

Then we spend hours and hours searching for the perfect place to bury our food supply until winter time. That takes a lot of time. It takes us even more time to find the nuts we buried. Can you remember where you put everything you have?

I thought not, it's not as easy as it sounds now is it?

We squirrels work hard to make a living, so my question is this.

What do those lazy cats do all day?

Chase squirrels!

Oh

Not really.

Those rodents are way too fast even for us and they climb faster than they run on the ground. It's just too much work.

But don't tell the squirrels that.

Actually it's kind of fun to lay on the ground and watch them run along the wires and play in the trees. Great cat TV.

By the way, do you like our golden eyes?

Mews and Kitten Update

Hello Everyone!
Little Boy here to bring you all the mews of this past week. Our Mama has been working hard to get some photos of our little kitten house guests. Guess what? She finally got a few.

This is Miss Aphrodite, isn't she as cute as can be?

She is very shy but she still like to play with toys and explore.

Now here is the one who really gave Mama fits when she was trying to get photos. This is Miss Athena.

Most of the photos Mama got of Athena look like this......can we say blur?

This little wiggle worm won't be still for a second unless she is eyeing up the camera strap and getting ready to pounce!!!  Mama barely got this photo before the attack on the strap.

We don't mind having the little girls around, they are kind of cute. Plus our Mama still gives us lots and lots of attention just like always. We'll give you another update on the foster kittens soon.

The theme at Miss Freda's Photo Time this week is Signs. This is one of our Mama's favorite signs in our town. The Inland Octopus is a toy store on Main Street.
