Easy Weekend

Georgia warned me about the crazy camera lady but I didn't know she would catch me doing a little grooming. I'd better be careful when I use the litter box. Don't want embarrass myself or you. My name is Adam and I'm staying with the Squirrel Lady and her family for awhile. So I guess you could call this a Guest post.

I heard Georgia and Miss Cindi talking about the rain outside. They said we were going to have a nice quiet and easy weekend. (My ear is green 'cause when I got nootered they gave me a tattoo. The green you see will go away soon.)

I'm not really sure when this weekend thing starts but I'm gonna get a head start.

Happy Turkey Day

Hey all you hoomans and furry friends! Georgia here.
I tried to explain to the Kitty Krew that I'm only three months old and I've never heard of this thing they called Thanksgiving. And what the heck is a turkey? They promised to explain it too me later if I would put on this hat and wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

If you look up at the header photo you will see my new playmate, Adam. Mommy is giving him medicine and he will be here for about two weeks. We are having lots of fun playing chase and chewing on the stuffies. Gotta go now.

Kitopia!

November 4th through the 10th is National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week!
It's a good time to stop by your local shelter and tell those folks what a wonderful job they are doing for our animal friends.

I thought this would be a good time to show you the cat rooms at our local Humane Society. Please forgive the quality of some of these photos. I was shooting through the glass so as not to disturb the kitties or their human visitors too much. This little guy caught me in the act.

There are two large rooms where the cats can play and relax. All of the murals were done by volunteers.

There are beds and perches everywhere. The kitties have lots of places to nap.

There are large windows in both rooms which allows lots of sunshine to enter. Also if you look closely in this photo and the one above you will see a cat door in the window. These cats have an outside play room too. The outside area is huge! It is a covered area, completely fenced in and filled with platforms and tree limbs which are handy for climbing and sharpening those claws. The outside area was also constructed by volunteers.

Not a bad place to hang out while waiting for that special someone to come through the door and give a kitty a nice forever home.
